Lt Gen Nauman Mahmood, HI (M) (Retd) was commissioned in 1987 after graduating from the Pakistan Military Academy. He is a graduate of the Command and Staff College Quetta, Command and Staff College Cairo, and National Defence University Islamabad, and holds a Master’s degree in War Studies. He is a recipient of the Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).
During his distinguished career, he commanded an Infantry Regiment, a Para Brigade in South Waziristan, an Infantry Brigade in Kashmir, and the 7 Infantry Division in North Waziristan. His senior staff appointments included Chief of Staff, Headquarters 11 Corps; Chief Instructor at Command and Staff College Quetta; and Director General (Analysis), Inter Services Intelligence.
As a Lieutenant General, he served as Inspector General, Communication & Information Technology at General Headquarters, Commander 11 Corps, Peshawar, and President of the National Defence University, Islamabad. He retired on 23 April 2023.
Muhammad Noman Akhter is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) with over 24 years of diverse experience across both the public and private sectors. He is a Director at Gratus Consultants, specializing in corporate and financial advisory, and also leads Aabpara Residency’s real estate projects. Additionally, he serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Arif Habib Dolmen REIT Management Company. A seasoned trainer and mentor, Mr. Akhter teaches Corporate Law in the Institute of Business Administration (IBA)’s Diploma Program and provides guidance to Chartered Accountancy students at KnS Institute of Business Studies. Previously, he spent over a decade at the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), where he supervised Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), Modarabas, and insurance companies. As Director at SECP, he played a key role in regulating listed companies in Pakistan, with a strong focus on corporate governance and compliance.
